DITA maps and bookmaps allow you to organize topics for a deliverable.
- map
- Describes the relationships among a set of DITA topics or maps.
- bookmap
- The bookmap specialization of a DITA map supports standard book production for collections of DITA topics.
DITA maps use the file extension .ditamap.

You can edit maps in the repository using the Workbench Map Editor, an integrated XML editor, or the embedded editor. The default editor is specified in the Preferences Editor Settings dialog. See Setting Editor Preferences.
